SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Blaze will be holding an open player tryout at the Spence Eccles Field House on Saturday, August 26, 2006. The tryout is open to players not currently enrolled in college or who have already exhausted their eligibility.
All players will be tested in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, broad jump and 225-pound bench press. In addition, participants may be asked to participate in position-specific drills and one-on-ones.
Interested participants are encouraged to pre-register on the team’s official website, www.utahblaze.com, at a cost of $50 or walk-up registration will be $75 (cash or money order only). The Utah Blaze were winners of the 2006 Commissioner’s Award, given to the Arena Football League’s Organization of the Year, and the Best Support Staff Award. The Blaze led the AFL in attendance and qualified for the postseason in just their first season.
