FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Jamie Patrick scored 21 points, and Ellen Nystrom had 16 points, nine rebounds and nine assists to help 22nd-ranked Colorado State beat Fresno State 68-55 Tuesday night and secure the Rams' third-straight outright regular-season Mountain West Conference title.
Colorado State is the first team in MWC history to win three outright conference crowns in a row.
Keyora Wharry hit 7 of 12 shots and finished with 16 points for the Rams (27-1, 17-0), who have won a school record 25 consecutive games — the second longest active streak in Division I, behind Connecticut's 66-game streak.
Fresno State (18-10, 14-3) had its five-game win streak snapped.
The Bulldogs led 45-44 after three quarters, but were outscored 24-10 in the fourth as Colorado State made 6 of 12 from the field, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range, and 8 of 8 foul shots in the final 10 minutes.
Brittany Aikens led Fresno State with 13 points.
