TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN — A lot happened this weekend, and only some of it had to do with sports.

All of it had to do with funny moments, inspiring moments and moments of pure joy from a world tennis legend's Oscar habits to a skiing standout's incredible fortitude.

Here are a few of our favorite moments.

'To getting back to No. 1'

The Oscars isn't just for celebrities anymore. Some of sports' biggest stars stop by the red carpet for the fun, frivolity and emotion of seeing who wins Best Picture and the other categories.

Even Roger Federer was there, even if the tennis legend wasn't up for any awards.

Federer is currently No. 3 in the latest world tennis rankings, behind Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. But he's close — No. 2 and No. 3 trail Djokovic by less than 8,000 points.

Lindsey Vonn sets World Cup record after fracturing knee

The Olympic gold medalist went from a brutal knee injury to setting a World Cup record the next day during an event in Andorra over the weekend.

Vonn crashed on the course one day, fracturing her knee and having to be taken off the mountain via sled. But the ex-girlfriend of golfer Tiger Woods returned to the slopes the next day, wearing braces on either leg, and cruised downhill to set a Super G record of 57.04 seconds for the top spot on the podium.

Here's the crash.

And here's what her knee looked like on the inside, courtesy of her Instagram page.

Vonn had a few words for her detractors after the race, too.

The former Butler coach, who brought the Bulldogs within Gordon Hayward's half-court heave of winning the NCAA title, also has the Celtics with the third-best record in the East.

But Stevens may have out-done himself recently at the C's practice facility.

The young NBA coach threw down a trampoline dunk that was only that much better because it was caught on camera.

OK, so the dunk wasn't exactly a world-beater. But it's better than anything we've seen an NBA coach do this year (no offense to Spurs coach Gregg Popovich).

Stevens just threw down the gauntlet to every NBA coach with an ounce of athleticism.

What say you, Jazz coach Quin Snyder? The Jazz play at Boston on Monday night.
