ADA COUNTY, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say a 57-year-old man was shot and wounded by a deputy in Ada County after the man pointed a gun at him. The Sheriff's Office says Deputy Cory Feldman shot Kenneth Morehouse in the shoulder. Morehouse was treated and released yesterday afternoon, then booked into the Ada County Jail.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Charter schools would no longer be required to use the same teacher contracts as other public schools under a bill that has cleared the Idaho Senate. The Senate voted to allow charter schools to create their own contracts without approval from the state's superintendent of public instruction.
LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Lewiston city officials say the century-old Hurbut Mansion is no longer in danger of falling down. Building officials tell The Lewiston Tribune that the building owners have completed structural repairs that prompted erection of a safety fence around the property. The building is owned by the Lewis-Clark Early Childhood Program.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Rape kits and other DNA evidence from sexual assault cases in Idaho would be tracked in a statewide system, under a bill being considered by state lawmakers. The bill would require that the evidence be sent for DNA testing unless the victim requests otherwise.
