Marco Rubio, meanwhile, has been gathering support from GOP establishment figures. Since Friday, Rubio has added 12 new Congressional or gubernatorial endorsements, while Donald Trump and Ted Cruz have added none.
BEIRUT (AP) — The Syrian government says that it accepts a proposed truce in the country, adding that operations will continue against the Islamic State group and al-Qaida's branch in Syria. The official announcement comes a day after the United States and Russia agreed on a new cease-fire for Syria that will take effect Saturday.
THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — In the eastern Netherlands, a commuter train derailed after slamming into a crane which was crossing the tracks. One person is reported dead, six others injured. The accident left the train's four carriages lying on their sides on or near the rails outside the town of Dalfsen some 78 miles east of Amsterdam.
TOKYO (AP) — More than 160 passengers and crew slid down emergency chutes in swirling snow after an engine fire forced a Japan Airlines domestic flight to abort takeoff and smoke entered the cabin. Japanese broadcaster NHK showed video of the passengers evacuating the Boeing 737 and then gathering on the snow-covered tarmac at the airport in Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost main island.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — A book reportedly written by a Canadian serial killer has been removed from Amazon's website a day after being put on sale online following protests by British Columbia authorities. Robert Pickton, now 66, was convicted in 2007 of six counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of sex workers.
