GOLDSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Police say a second-grade teacher in North Carolina has died after he was struck in his school's parking lot by a bus from a day care center.
Local media outlets report that 25-year-old Brandon Kincaid was hit by the private bus from the day care around 8 a.m. Tuesday in Goldsboro.
Kincaid died at a nearby hospital.
An investigation is underway. Kincaid was a teacher at Meadow Lane Elementary School, and the Goldsboro City Schools say he was in his second year of teaching.
School system spokesman Ken Derksen says Kincaid had a physical disability that required him to use a wheelchair, but he couldn't confirm whether Kincaid was in the wheelchair when the bus struck him.
