SWINDON, England, Jul 26, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Four rare, hand-made, Beatrix Potter Christmas cards are expected to bring in about 60,000 pounds ($76,000) at an auction in Swindon, England.
The watercolor cards made by the creator of "Peter Rabbit" were found in an envelope in a trunk hidden among boxes hoarded by relatives of two sisters who shared great-grandparents with the artist, Britain's Telegraph reported Wednesday.
Potter sent the cards in 1890, 1893, 1894 and 1895 to the sisters, Elizabeth and Eleanor Lupton.
The cards all depict mice and rabbits and bore the artists initials, HBP.
The cards are expected to go for 10,000 pounds to 15,000 pounds ($12,000-$19,000) each at Kidson-Trigg auction house in Swindon.
