BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Boise police say a passerby reported finding a body yesterday at Julia Davis Park. KIVI-TV reports that the person made the report about 2 p.m. The dead man appears to be in his '50s. The cause of his death is under investigation.
BURNS, Ore. (AP) — Lawyers for the jailed leader of an armed group occupying an Oregon wildlife refuge say they have recorded a phone call with Ammon Bundy telling the four people remaining at the refuge that it is "his authentic desire for them to stand down." Attorney Lissa Casey says her client is not aligned with those remaining at the refuge and that he wants to go back to his family in Idaho.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Prosecutors are not pursuing criminal charges in the death of a 7-month-old boy who died after a nurse gave him another patient's medication. KTVB-TV reports a Friday news release by the Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney says August Elliott's death did not amount to a crime under the involuntary manslaughter statute.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho House has approved a revised tax conformity bill after spiking a prior version because it would have removed an unenforceable rule banning joint returns from same-sex couples. Lawmakers voted 54-16 on Friday on a new bill that doesn't remove any existing law, but adds a new section that states same-sex marriage must be recognized under Idaho's Income Tax Act.
