ROME (AP) — Italy will host France in a friendly at Under-21 level on June 2 in honor of Valeria Solesin, who died in the Paris attacks.
Solesin, who had been living in Paris for six years and studied at the Sorbonne, was among those killed inside the Bataclan Theater in Paris. She was 28.
The general director of the Italian football federation, Michele Uva, says "It will be a day dedicated to the memory of Valeria Solesin. We asked France to play this match, in memory of the night of the attacks in Paris."
Solesin was one of 130 people killed in Paris on Nov. 13. A further 350 people were wounded.
The match will be held in Solesin's home city of Venice.
