Burr, McNeese State beat Incarnate Word 79-76 in OT

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — Jamaya Burr scored eight of his 26 points in overtime to help McNeese State beat Incarnate Word 79-76 on Monday night.

Burr scored McNeese State's first five points of overtime and added two free throws with 17 seconds left for a 76-73 lead. Mitchell Badillo answered with a layup but Tevin Jackson hit two free throws with seven seconds left to give McNeese State another three-point lead.

Badillo and Burr both split a pair from the line in the closing seconds.

James Harvey added 17 points for McNeese State (5-12, 3-4 Southland), which played its first overtime game of the season. Craig McFerrin had 14 points and Jackson added 12.

Badillo led Incarnate Word (9-8, 4-2) with 21 points and Derail Green added 18 points with eight rebounds.

Badillo hit two free throws with 1:22 left in the second half to tie it at 67 and neither team scored again to close regulation.
