When the introverted young Walter finds himself forced to spend the summer with a pair of eccentric great-uncles, he's understandably unnerved. They're old, cranky and total strangers. They live on a remote ranch in Texas. And worst of all, they're not expecting him. These gruff-talking, shotgun-toting great uncles, Garth and Hub, also don't have much interest in taking care of any boy, let alone an unusual commodity like Walter. But left to their own devices, this mismatched threesome begins to forge an unlikely bond. Walter is slowly drawn in by his uncles' exotic past, their tales of faraway lands and hints of a mysterious fortune. Garth and Hub, meanwhile, gradually find their lives reignited by the boy's spirit and curiosity.
