SALT LAKE CITY — Here's some fun things that we've discovered from the world of sports in today's From Left Field.
1. Math can be tricky for athletes
This great video of Toronto Raptors stars DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry talking about the nuances of 2 + 1 = 3 comes from the team's visit to London last week.
Holy crap this is so great. pic.twitter.com/5m89yXaNhz — Shoppers Thugmart (@IamHarshDave) January 19, 2016
Good news: the Raptors did end up winning the game, pushing DeRozan's international record to 1-2. Or 1-for-3, if you'd prefer.
2. Diving backwards, ping-pong player hits forehand winner
Check out this shot by Mark Albrecht! No one should be able to hit a falling forehand with this good of accuracy, but Albrecht put it exactly where he should have.
Watch the video linked above the article to see the shot.
3. Nick Kyrgios also bending the rules of racquet sports
Here, Kyrgios sees that this ball is going to land past the baseline, so he smartly... wait. He hits a tweener back to his opponent? And then wins the point anyway?
This is why Nick Kyrgios is a legend. Sure, he's not among the top 10 players in the world, but he does do things with a certain flair.
4. This Iraqi child turned a plastic bag into a Messi jersey
This is pretty incredible ingenuity. Look at this kid's cool Messi jersey, in Argentina's baby blue and white, made out of a plastic bag.

Now, Lionel Messi and his team are trying to track down the boy in Iraq, trying to find him to give him a real jersey, but they can't seem to find him. We know KSL.com has a wide reach — nearly 1,000 sessions in the last month came from Iraq. If you see this boy, tell him that Messi is looking for him.
