CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The bill for holding a four-day special legislative session last month to lure carmaker Faraday Future to Nevada is nearly twice the cost of one to clear tax breaks for Tesla. Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau Director Rick Combs tells the Nevada Appeal that costs so far have amounted to $227,000. He expects the total to be about $250,000.
ELKO, Nev. (AP) — An obstetrician has filed a lawsuit against Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko after the hospital revoked his medical privileges. The Elko Daily Free Press reports that Dr. George Winch Jr. says the hospital spread false rumors about him. A hospital representative told the newspaper they could not comment because the defendants have not been served.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a woman is dead after she was struck by an SUV in Las Vegas. KSNV-TV reports that police say the woman had been walking outside a crosswalk when the vehicle hit her Sunday evening. The driver involved in the collision was cooperating with responding authorities.
SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — A 20-year-old Sparks man been arrested on charges accusing him of intentionally starting a fire in his apartment over the weekend. Sparks police say Tristan Dufurrena was charged with first-degree arson, obstructing a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
