Reno-area schools delayed because of snowy roads

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Schools in the Reno area are delayed or closed because of snowy weather in northern Nevada.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (http://on.rgj.com/1Q2ZOcy ) that wet snow melted into a slick mess on Reno roads Friday morning.

Washoe County schools are on a two-hour delay, as is Bishop Manogue High School. Incline Village schools are closed.

Duncan Dauber of the Hevada Highway Patrol says crashes and slide offs began before 6 a.m. Some areas require chains or snow tires.
