SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — David Humphries had career highs of six 3-pointers and 20 points and Loyola Marymount beat San Francisco 87-83 Thursday night to snap five-game losing streak.
USF closed to 81-80 after a 5-0 spurt with just under a minute left. But the Lions' Munis Tutu made four free throws sandwiched around a missed shot, two missed free throws and a turnover by USF. Devin Watson hit a 3-pointer for USF to make it 85-83 with 10 seconds left but Shamar Johnson added two more free throws to seal it.
The Lions led from the 6:57 mark of the first half and were up 11 on a Humphries 3-pointer with 15:39 left before the Dons scored the next nine points.
Adam Jacko added 16 points and Joshua Spiers 11 for the Lions (8-9, 1-5 WCC).
Watson and Tim Derksen scored 20 points each for the Dons (9-8, 3-4). Ronnie Boyce III added 17.
