NACODOCHES, Texas (AP) — Thomas Walkup scored a season-high 32 points on 10-of-13 shooting and made a season-high 11 of 14 free throws, and Stephen F. Austin beat Central Arkansas 85-64 Tuesday night to win its 10th straight game.
Ty Charles and Clide Geffrard added 10 points apiece for the Lumberjacks (10-5, 3-0 Southland Conference), who shot 50 percent from the field and made 22 of 33 free throws (67 percent).
Stephen F. Austin is 38-1 against Southland Conference foes under coach Brad Underwood.
Up by eight at halftime, the Lumberjacks pulled ahead on a 13-4 spurt, then led 61-38 after a 13-2 run in which Walkup scored seven points.
Derreck Brooks' jumper pulled the Bears within 22-20 in the first half, but the Lumberjacks pulled away on a 9-4 run for a 31-24 lead. Dallas Cameron scored six straight and Stephen F. Austin led 37-29 at halftime.
Jordan Howard scored 19 points and Brooks had 16 with 13 rebounds for the Bears (2-12, 1-3).
