DALLAS (AP) — Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mo Williams was excused by the team from Tuesday night's game in Dallas to tend to a personal matter.
Coach David Blatt said before that the game that Williams' absence wasn't basketball-related. The guard has been dealing with a thumb injury and missed his fifth consecutive game.
Williams' family lives in the Dallas area, and he has a basketball academy there.
When asked if Williams being at home had anything to do with him missing the game, Blatt said: "It's a lot more serious than that." The coach said everyone will understand the reason for the absence when it is revealed.
