MCLEAN, Va. (AFX) - Gannett Co., the largest newspaper publisher in the country, on Tuesday named Kurt Wimmer senior vice president and general counsel.
Wimmer, a media and intellectual property lawyer and partner at Covington and Burling LLP, replaces the retiring Thomas L. Chapple on Aug. 21. He will also become a member of Gannett's management committee.
The company also said it named Roxanne V. Horning as senior vice president of human resources, effective immediately. She will join Wimmer on Gannett's management advisory group.
Horning has served as vice president of human resources since April 2005.
