LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Little Rock Police say an off-duty officer who was shot in the shoulder during a robbery attempt at an Arkansas restaurant has been released from a hospital and that a second of three suspects in the case is now in custody.

Police Chief Kenton Buckner said Sunday that 39-year-old Officer Shawn Bakr was released Saturday night after treatment for the gunshot wound he suffered while working security at a Red Lobster restaurant.

Buckner says a juvenile who was shot by Bakr during the attempted robbery shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday remains hospitalized in serious condition and that a second suspect was arrested Sunday morning. A third suspect remains at large.

Police say Bakr is on paid leave while the shooting is investigated.
