LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say a bus went off the road and fatally struck a woman on the sidewalk.
Authorities say the crash happened shortly after 5 a.m. on Tropicana Avenue near Polaris Drive.
According to police, the bus was traveling eastbound on Tropicana when it veered for an unknown reason.
The bus hit a bus stop shelter and then a female pedestrian.
Police say emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
She has not yet been identified pending notification of next of kin.
No one else was hurt, including the 22-year-old male bus driver.
Authorities say the bus was a 2004 New Flyer Regional Transit Commission bus.
The accident remains under investigation.
