Longwood tops Coastal Carolina 76-61 to snap skid in series

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) — Kanayo Obi-Rapu scored 17 points and all five Longwood starters finished in double figures in a 76-61 victory Saturday to snap the Lancers' four-game losing streak in the series.

Longwood closed the first half on a 9-0 run, with five points from Obi-Rapu, to take a 27-23 lead at halftime. The Lancers started the second half on a 21-7 spurt for a 48-30 lead. Darrion Allen had seven points during the stretch and Lotanna Nwogbo scored five.

Shaquille Johnson and Tra'Vaughn White added 16 points apiece for Longwood (5-13, 1-4 Big South), which got just two points from its bench. Allen had 14 points and Nwogbo 11.

Coastal Carolina (8-8, 2-4), the reigning Big South champion, was led by Badou Diagne's 21 points. Marcus Freeman added 11 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. The Chanticleers were held to 20-of-62 shooting (32 percent).
