NEW YORK (AP) — Danaejah Grant scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and St. John's held off No. 25 Seton Hall 71-69 on Saturday.

Alaliyah Lewis made 5 of 6 free throws in the fourth quarter, three in the final 15 seconds for the Red Storm, and Shakena Richardson missed a 3-pointer in the closing seconds for Seton Hall.

Aliyyah Handford had 17 points for St. John's (13-3, 4-1 Big East), which made 17 of 25 free throws, 7 of 11 in the fourth quarter.

Tabatha Richardson-Smith had 34 points for the Pirates (13-3, 3-2), who were only 6 of 14 from the line. Richardson added 15.

Grant and Handford combined for 30 points and the Red Storm led 43-29 at the half.

Seton Hall scored the first eight points of the second half and turned that into a 16-2 run to tie the game at 45 and the game was tight the rest of the way.
