BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Shane Richards scored a career-high 32 points and Manhattan beat Canisius 94-86 on Thursday night.

The Jaspers (6-8, 3-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) have won five of six since snapping a five-game skid. The Golden Griffins (7-8, 2-3) have lost back-to-back games after winning four in a row.

Richards was 11 of 14 from the floor with six 3-pointers. Rich Williams added 19 points with a career-best five assists, and matched a career-high with 11 rebounds for Manhattan.

Phil Valenti scored 26 points to lead Canisius. Malcolm McMillan added 17 points.

Isaiah Gurley made two 3-pointers and Valenti added three points as part of a 9-2 spurt to pull Canisius to 75-73. RaShawn Stores answered with a 3, Calvin Crawford made a layup, and Richards added another 3-pointer to stretch the Jaspers' lead to 83-75 with two minutes left.

Manhattan made 11 of 12 free throws to seal it.
