STORRS, Conn. (AP) — UConn point guard Moriah Jefferson will miss her first game after 90 consecutive starts on Wednesday with a hamstring injury.
Coach Geno Auriemma said Jefferson pulled her right hamstring in practice on Friday and will sit out the Huskies home game against Tulsa (5-8).
The senior is averaging 13.2 points and 6.1 assists for the top-ranked Huskies (11-0), who have won 48 straight.
Jefferson has played in all 129 games of her UConn career, leading the Huskies to 124 wins and three straight NCAA titles.
Auriemma said Junior Saniya Chong will start in Jefferson's place.
