ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The University of Central Florida has received its second $1.5 million pledge in as many weeks toward the construction of a campus in downtown Orlando.
CFE Federal Credit Union on Monday pledged $1.5 million toward a new campus that would serve 7,700 UCF and Valencia College students. CFE's pledge was made two weeks after the Orlando Magic became the first donor to pledge money for the downtown campus.
UCF officials are hoping the campus opens in 2018.
UCF is the nation's second-largest university with more than 60,000 students. It's main campus is located on the eastside of metro Orlando.
