LORMAN, Miss. (AP) — Octavius Brown scored 17 points to help Alcorn State beat Division III member Louisiana College 81-69 on Wednesday.

Marquis Vance added 16 points for Alcorn State (2-9), which beat NAIA's Blue Mountain College at home earlier in the month. Devonte Hampton and Tamarcio Wilson had 10 points apiece for the Braves.

Vance made three of Alcorn State's seven 3-pointers and Hampton grabbed nine rebounds. Alcorn State made 20 of 36 free-throw attempts compared with 11 of 15 for Louisiana College.

Alcorn State, in its final non-conference game of the season, led just 30-28 at halftime after shooting 37.9 percent from the field but they made 53.3 percent in the second half.

Kevin Lewis led Louisiana College with 20 points on 8-of-21 shooting. Anthony Gaines Jr. added 17 points for the Wildcats, who were 4 of 20 from 3-point range.
