BERLIN (AP) — Authorities say one person has died in a fire at a hotel in Berlin and three others were taken to the hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
The city fire service said that furniture in a second-story room caught fire on Sunday, but it wasn't immediately clear how the blaze started, news agency dpa reported.
The budget hotel in a communist-era building in the eastern Marzahn district was once used to accommodate refugees, but the city government said it currently isn't housing any migrants there.
