LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities in Las Vegas have identified a 31-year-old California man who police say was killed while ignoring warnings from an apartment resident who shot him through a closed front door. Clark County coroner says Richard Rizal McGee of Huntington Beach, Calif., died after he shots came through the door about 5 a.m. Wednesday. Police say McGee was pounding on the door and trying to force it open when he was shot.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a man arrested in Indianapolis is wanted on a murder charge in the shooting death of a 39-year-old man last month after a fight in a Las Vegas apartment complex parking lot. Las Vegas police say 30-year-old Damien Ford was arrested Wednesday in Indiana on an unspecified warrant. He was being held pending extradition to Nevada to face charges in the Nov. 23 slaying of Dwayne Autry Taylor.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a husband is dead and his wife is facing a murder charge after a Christmas Eve shooting ended in fatal gunfire in a room at a downtown Las Vegas casino hotel. Officer Michael Rodriguez said Friday that 34-year old Maria Escalante was arrested after police were called a little before 10:15 p.m. Thursday to the Plaza Hotel and Casino. Police say Escalante's husband was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — "Ho, ho, ho! Vegas got snow!" That was a Christmas morning posting by the National Weather Service, heralding flurries mixed with rain showers after a windy cold front swept through the Las Vegas area. Meteorologist Chris Stachelski noted that the trace of snow recorded at McCarran International Airport tied a Christmas Day record set in 1941. Traces also were recorded on Christmas in 1988 and 2008.
