RENO, Nev. (AP) — Police in Reno say a 27-year-old registered sex offender was arrested on multiple kidnapping, sexual assault and other charges after he was identified by a woman who said she'd been robbed.

Officer Tim Broadway says Chad Anthony Phillips was arrested Thursday after the woman called 911 about 9 a.m. to report the robbery at a business in north Reno.

Broadway says the woman then reported she'd also been sexually assaulted.

Broadway identifies Phillips as a registered sex offender, and says he's also facing felony charges including battery with intent to commit sexual assault and failure to register as a sex offender.

Reno and University of Nevada, Reno, police were involved in the investigation.
