Smith, Moore lead Utah State to 69-58 win over Idaho State

LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Chris Smith and Jalen Moore combined for 41 points and 19 rebounds to lead Utah State to a 69-58 victory over Idaho State In the Global Sports Hoops Showcase on Tuesday night.

Smith had 22 points and 10 boards along with six assists and Moore added 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Darius Perkins, who was 4 of 9 from beyond the arc, had 12 points.

Utah State had a slim 29-28 halftime lead. Perkins nailed a trey to open the second period and start a 17-8 run to put the Aggies ahead 46-36 at the 12:04 mark. The Aggies answered every Idaho State challenge in the final 10 minutes of the period.

Geno Luzcando led Idaho State (3-7) with 21 points. Ethan Telfair added 20.

Utah State will face North Dakota State and Idaho State will go up against Texas Rio Grande Valley on Wednesday.
