LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — C.J. Bryce scored a career-high 17 points and North Carolina-Wilmington jumped out early and cruised to a 102-77 victory over Utah Valley in the Billy Minardi Classic on Tuesday night.
Craig Ponder and Mark Matthews added 15 points apiece for UNC-Wilmington (6-3), which snapped a three-game losing skid. Denzel Ingram chipped in 14 points.
Jaden Jackson scored 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting to lead Utah Valley (5-7).
The Wolverines had a five-point lead early in the first half, and it was tied at 19-all with 11 minutes to go before the break. An 18-6 spurt gave the Seahawks a 37-25 lead. Konner Frey converted a 3-point play and made a jumper to pull Utah Valley to 46-35. Ingram made a 3 to spark a 9-1 surge and UNC-Wilmington had a 55-36 halftime lead.
Ingram's jumper stretched the Seahawks' lead to 30 points with 15 minutes left.
