BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A group of Idaho lawmakers tasked with reviewing broadband Internet in public schools have finalized a new outline on moving forward with a program that dissolved earlier this year. The Broadband Access Study Interim Committee agreed to urge the 2016 Idaho Legislature to approve a seven-member committee that would provide oversight, standards and other services to schools negotiating their own broadband contracts.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A federal judge in Tacoma has rejected plans to increase the killing of wolves in Washington state by a federal agency. A judge last week ruled that the agency, Wildlife Services, should have prepared a more in-depth environmental analysis of the proposed killing of wolves.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Two seed companies are working together to develop a new variety of sugar beet that is resistant to three different herbicides. The Capital Press reports that the companies want to create a genetically engineered beet that would allow growers to better control weeds. It is expected to be available in eight to 10 years.

BELLEVUE, Idaho (AP) — A central Idaho bus service is scheduled to open a new transit hub in Bellevue next month. The Idaho Mountain Express reports that Mountain Rides Transportation Authority's south-valley transit hub in Bellevue is nearly completed, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for mid-January.
