ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A county coroner says a 13-year-old girl struck by a vehicle last week in eastern Pennsylvania died of blunt force head injuries.
The Lehigh County coroner's office said Monday that the death of Ashlee Smahaj of Tobyhanna Township in Monroe County was ruled an accident.
Coroner Scott Grim said the victim was struck just after 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 15 at an intersection in Tunkhannock Township.
She was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, where she was pronounced dead Saturday.
The coroner's office and Pocono Mountain regional police are investigating the accident.
