MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) — DeJuan Marrero scored 16 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds and Morehead State beat Western Carolina 60-52 on Sunday.

Corban Collins added 12 points while Brent Arrington and Miguel Dicent had 10 each for the Bears (6-3). Marrero's double-double was his first.

Western Carolina scored five straight points to tie the game at 52-all with 1:50 left. But Anthony Elechi put in a layup and Morehead State outscored Western Carolina 8-0. The Catamounts missed their last five shots.

The Eagles, coming in as the nation's 23rd-best scoring defense at 61.4 points per game, held the Catamounts to 30.6 percent shooting.

Justin Browning had 15 points and 10 rebounds, his first double-double for Western Carolina (4-7).

Morehead State scored the first six points of the second half for its biggest lead at 10 points. Western Carolina tied it with 9:42 left and lead changed hands six times after that.
