The sunny Hawaii day turned gray and blustery as President Barack Obama finished playing golf. A few people watched by the road as the motorcade sped back to the first family's rental home in Kailua.
Earlier in the day, the president arrived at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe to spend his first sunny afternoon of vacation at Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. He was joined by Joe Paulsen, Mike Brush and Bobby Titcomb, all familiar golfing partners.

The president arrived in the wee hours of the day at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam via Air Force One. He is joined by first lady Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha.
It's the start of his annual two-week holiday getaway from Washington.
On the way to Hawaii, Obama stopped in Southern California to speak with family members of those killed in the San Bernardino shootings.
