ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — A wanted St. George man caught in Missouri made his first appearance in court on allegations he used his job at an auto dealership to further a fraudulent car rental scheme.

The Spectrum in St. George reports (http://bit.ly/1TWtcSu) that a judge set a review hearing Friday for 43-year-old Dennis Wayne Hopper.

Hopper is being held on $50,000 bail.

He is also a key witness for prosecutors pursuing charges against staff and clients of Executive Auto.

Prosecutors say several people secretly subleased high-end cars that were still under bank loan contracts.

Hopper, who was a dealership finance manager, was charged with 18 counts in January including fraud and forgery.

Hopper fled the state in August but was caught in October.

His attorney did not immediately return a message Saturday seeking comment.
