CARNEYS POINT, N.J. (AP) — Classes resume Thursday at Salem Community College after a threat led to a lockdown.
In a message to students, college President Mike Gorman says a student verbally threatened to harm classmates before leaving campus around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Carneys Point police secured the Salem County campus for nearly two hours and the student was taken into custody for questioning. The student's name has not been released.
Classes were dismissed at 7:45 p.m.
Gorman says no one was harmed or in jeopardy because the student had left campus.
