SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A winter weather advisory is posted until 9:00 tonight for northern Utah including Salt Lake City, and forecaste4rs are predicting 1 to 4 inches of new snow. Parts of the area received 16 inches or more in the Salt Lake area's first major snowstorm of the season. Temperatures are expected to be much colder tonight.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A former fraternity president at Utah State University who pleaded guilty to trying to sexually abuse a woman who passed out at a party has been sentenced to six months in jail. Prosecutors say Ryan Wray had been assigned to keep watch over partygoers who couldn't take care of themselves when he inappropriately touched the woman at a Pi Kappa Alpha party in 2014. The judge also ordered Wray to complete sex offender treatment.

FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) — Davis County authorities are telling residents that the newly green water of Farmington Pond is not toxic, but instead may be the result of a prank. Police say a large amount of food dye was dumped into the pond, making the water turn a bright green color. The sheriff's office says tests determined the water is non-toxic and does not pose a threat to the public.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs never trailed in their 118-81 drubbing of the Utah Jazz last night. San Antonio led by as many as 46 points while continuing its league-leading defensive efforts. The Spurs are 21-5, the second-best start in franchise history. Kawhi Leonard had 22 points for San Antonio while Derrick Favors led the Jazz with 16 points.
