BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An 18-yar-old Meridian man has pleaded guilty to pointing a handgun at his friend and accidentally pulling the trigger.
KTVB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1OtInP5 ) that David Provencio pleaded guilty on Monday to involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of 15-year-old Tristan Fenton.
As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors have agreed to ask for a 15-year sentence.
Prosecutors say Provencio pointed the gun at Fenton's head and pulled the trigger, not realizing it was loaded. They say several people were at Fenton's house drinking and smoking marijuana before the shooting.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 16.
