HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Ryan Taylor had career-highs in both points, with 27, and blocks, with three, to help Marshall beat North Carolina Central 92-73 on Monday night.

Taylor made 10 of his 12 field goal attempts and finished a perfect 7 for 7 at the free throw line.

Austin Loop finished with 20 points, including 6 of 12 from 3-point range, for Marshall (3-6), which has won three straight after six losses in a row to open the season.

The Thundering Herd scored 10 of the final 14 points of the first half and led 46-41 after 20 minutes. A Jon Elmore 3-pointer with 14:52 remaining gave Marshall its first double digit lead at 59-47.

The Thundering Herd continued to apply pressure, and a Taylor layup with 3:58 left pushed their lead to 21 (86-65), the highest mark of the night.

Jeremiah Ingram scored 21 points and added seven boards for NC Central (3-6).
