GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — B.J. Tyson scored 21 points and Charles Foster had 11 of his 13 in the second half to lead East Carolina to a 71-60 win over North Carolina A&T on Sunday.

Tyson had 15 points by halftime as the Pirates (6-4) led 29-26. Foster and Caleb White took over in the second half. White scored all 10 of his points and East Carolina hit 15 of 19 free throws.

Bruce Beckford scored 17 of his 22 points in the second half to keep the Aggies (4-8) in the game.

Down 11 with 4:14 to play, Steven Burrough made a jumper and Beckford had two free throws but the Aggies came up empty on three chances during one possession. After the teams traded quick baskets with less than a minute to go, the Pirates were good on six free throws to seal it.
