LE BOURGET, France (AP) — France has formally presented the final draft of a breakthrough climate agreement to delegates from nearly 200 nations meting outside Paris. French President Francois Hollande (frahn-SWAH' oh-LAWND') is appealing to negotiators to approve the breakthrough deal to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. He joins U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who made an impassioned plea today. Ban says "The whole world is watching. Billions of people are relying on your wisdom."

COACHELLA, Calif. (AP) — Federal and local authorities are investigating an arson fire at a California mosque about 75 miles from last week's terror attack in San Bernardino. People at the Islamic Center of Palm Springs -- in Coachella -- reported hearing a "loud boom" and then seeing flames in the small building's lobby. The mosque was hit by gunfire in 2014. That case remains under investigation.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Experts in jihad, immigration lawyers and former U.S. diplomats are expressing a new concern about extremist missions in the wake of the San Bernardino shootings: jihadi brides. A Pakistani woman's role as shooter is raising fears that foreign-born brides could marry Americans as part of extremist missions. So far, there's no sign other foreign brides have sought Western marriages to launch attacks. The Islamic State group currently bars women from combat or other attacks.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Today's election in Saudi Arabia is a landmark event, not because of the importance of the offices, but because women are voting and running as candidates for the first time. The elections are for local municipal council seats. Men and women used separate polling places, in accordance with Saudi law.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A lawsuit has been filed in federal court in San Francisco by the mother of a young black man shot and killed by police. The suit claims officers needlessly opened fire in an incident captured on video and circulated widely online. Police say the man refused commands to drop a knife he was carrying.
