CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Some conservative Nevada Republican plan to oppose Gov. Brian Sandoval's $335 million agreement to bring electric carmaker Faraday Future to the state. Freshman Assembly Republican Shelly Shelton penned an editorial this week characterizing tax breaks as hypocritical after the Legislature recently voted to increase business taxes.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police and church officials in Las Vegas are investigating a recent series of disruptive protests at Roman Catholic parishes that they say have worshippers on edge. No injuries, damage or arrests have resulted from demonstrations by men who post Internet video of themselves walking through churches during services, shouting derogatory comments.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 33-year-old Louisiana ex-convict and his 23-year-old girlfriend have been indicted in Las Vegas on murder, conspiracy and other charges in the death of a woman whose body was found in a duffel bag. The nine-count indictment filed could lead to a death penalty trial for the pair in the death in August of 71-year-old Young Suk Sanchez.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 56-year-old former Las Vegas convenience store clerk has been sentenced to four to 12 years in state prison for shooting a man in the back of the head when he tried to steal a case of beer in 2014. Mariano Tejeda-Zuniga was found guilty at trial in October. The shooting victim survived.
