CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi is applauding passage in Congress of changes to federal law on school accountability and student testing.
Republican Sen. John Barrasso also voted for revamping the No Child Left Behind law.
Enzi is a senior member of the Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee and served on the conference committee between the House and Senate that put the final version of the bill together.
In a statement, Enzi says the new law will end the prep-for-the-test system that has been in place and give states and local school districts more authority on their testing.
