MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) — A 15-year-old Manitowoc girl's condition is improving after she was hit by a school bus last month and placed into a medically induced coma.
WLUK-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1HUaR7T ) that Jacklynn Gienke has been upgraded from critical to serious condition since the accident on Nov. 19.
Manitowoc police say Gienke was crossing the street near Wilson Junior High School when a bus driver hit her after pulling away from a stop sign.
Police say the driver has been cited for failure to yield right of way to a pedestrian.
