LILLEHAMMER, Norway (AP) — Magnus Krog of Norway won a Nordic combined World Cup event Sunday after holding off Fabian Riessle of Germany in the cross-country skiing race.
Krog was 15th after the ski jump but then joined a large group of skiers up front in the 10-kilometer cross-country race and managed to pull away from his rivals on the last lap to win in 25 minutes, 41.8 seconds.
Riessle, who won Saturday's season-opening race, led the chase but finished 1 second behind. Lukas Klapper of Austria was third, 1.9 seconds back.
Riessle leads the overall standings with 180 points from two events, with Krog second on 132.
