SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — A co-worker says a suspect in the San Bernardino, California, shooting that left 14 dead had traveled to Saudi Arabia earlier this year and returned with a wife. Syed Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, died in a shootout with police; authorities believe they were the only shooters. No word yet on a motive.

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — The Southern California county where a pair of shooters killed 14 people and wounded 17 others will close most of its offices the rest of the week. The carnage happened at the Inland Regional Center, which helps people with disabilities.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The U.S. Army says two of its pilots were killed when their helicopter crashed near Fort Campbell in rural Tennessee. The two crewmembers were flying a two-seat AH-64D Apache during a routine training mission when the helicopter came down Wednesday evening.

ZURICH (AP) — Two FIFA officials have been arrested at the request of U.S. authorities in a widening bribery case that has rocked soccer's scandal-hit governing body. Swiss police made pre-dawn raids at the luxury Baur au Lac hotel in downtown Zurich, the same place where arrests last May sparked the crisis.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A former Russian military tank commander convicted of leading a Taliban attack on U.S. forces in Afghanistan is set to be sentenced today. The sentencing of Irek Hamidullin is scheduled at the federal court in Richmond, Virginia. Prosecutors are asking for a life sentence.
