KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kansas City Chiefs players, cheerleaders and mascot KC Wolf are scheduled to appear this week at an event culminating a more than a weeklong blood drive in conjunction with the Community Blood Center.
The 18th Annual Chiefs Week Blood Drive started Nov. 23 and ends on Tuesday with a special blood drive at Arrowhead Stadium. Donors who give blood during the week will receive a commemorative Chiefs shirt and a chance to win team memorabilia.
Organizers say a raffle also will be conducted for a ticket package for the Dec. 13 home game against San Diego, and a different package for the Jan. 3 home game against Oakland.
Blood Center executive director David Graham says there's usually a dip in blood donations during the winter months.
