SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) — A small earthquake struck near Sandpoint in northern Idaho yesterday afternoon, but no damage was reported. The U.S. Geological Survey says the 3.4-magnitude quake was centered about 11 miles southeast of Sandpoint, beneath Lake Pend Oreille. The quake was about 9 miles deep.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The U.S. Forest Service is spending just over $1 million to repair areas of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests scorched by massive wildfires last summer. A forest service spokeswoman says much of the work is aimed at keeping the forests accessible to visitors by making sure roads don't get washed out due to erosion following the wildfires.

MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) — Patrons at a Merdian movie theater were forced out when a water line broke in a restroom, sending a flood of water into the theater. KTVB-TV reports the flood occurred Sunday at the Village Cinema. Karisa Day says she was watching the new Hunger Games movie with her husband when the evacuation began. She says they couldn't go down the normal stairs because water was coming over the balcony "like a waterfall."

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — In college basketball, Chandler Hutchison scored 18 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field to help lead Boise State to a 100-53 win over NAIA Concordia University last night. Meanwhile, Perrion Callandret hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 1:27 remaining as Idaho beat North Texas 65-63 night at the Mean Green Showcase in Denton, Texas.
