PARIS (AP) — The French Defense Ministry says it has launched its first airstrikes from the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, bombing Islamic State targets in the Iraqi cities of Ramadi and Mosul. France had already carried out strikes against Islamic State targets in Syria. French President Francois Hollande said today that France would "choose sites that do the most damage possible."

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. attack planes and gunships are again targeting one of the most important sources of income for the Islamic State. The military says it destroyed 283 tanker trucks used by the militants to take oil from eastern Syria to smuggling points. Saturday's attack followed a similar one about a week earlier that destroyed 116 tanker trucks.

PARIS (AP) — The attacks in Paris are having a major impact on tourism. That's clear from initial figures, and it's pushed the French prime minister to meet industry officials to come up with a plan to keep visitors coming. Ten days after the carnage, museum ticket sales have plummeted. There are none of the usual lines of people waiting to get to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Though Parisians have put on a brave face since the attacks, one visitor from South Africa says, "You can really feel how nervous and scared people are."

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greece has been given official clearance today to get its new bailout loan, worth more than $2 billion. The eurozone bailout fund approved the loan after Greece agreed to adopt new austerity measures, including higher taxes on wine and on the use of highways.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans police say investigators are still trying to learn who pulled out guns and why they started shooting in a playground crowded with hundreds of people. A police spokesman says authorities have learned of a 17th victim in the shooting. He says none of the injuries is life-threatening, but he doesn't know yet how many people were hospitalized. Police say two groups had gathered at the park Sunday, most of them for a block party and some for a music video shoot. Two groups of gunmen started shooting at each other, and then ran off.
